A Virtual Tour
The Sidney P. Albert Bernard Shaw Collection has found a beautiful permanent home at the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library. The Shaw archive is in good company, as there are approximately 740,000 rare volumes and 4,000 linear metres of manuscript holdings housed in the Fisher Library. Next to the Fisher Library is the massive John P. Robarts Research Library which contains the largest single collection of the University of Toronto Libraries. How big? It is currently the largest book repository in Canada! The University of Toronto Libraries system is the largest academic library in Canada and consists of 44 libraries located on three university campuses. It has been repeatedly ranked as one of the top three library systems in North America – after Harvard University and Yale University – according to the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) rankings.
When you arrive in Spring, the massive library is surrounded by a sea of blooming cherry trees.
And there is a beautiful new wing just added to the library.
